The Mayor’s Bike Tour

Share

Pump up those tires and check that chain because Mayor Richard Riordan is leading another community bike ride on Saturday, this time from Griffith Park.

This is the sixth ride in the eight-part series, which offers a great way to see Los Angeles--with a Los Angeles Police Department escort to boot. The mayor, an avid cyclist, believes the rides are a great way to “combine his hobby with a chance to get out there with the people,” said his spokesperson.

Saturday’s ride departs from Gene Autry Western Heritage Museum, 4700 Western Heritage Way, Los Angeles. The 22-mile route circles Silver Lake Reservoir and loops back to Travel Town Museum for a refreshment stop, then proceeds to Universal Studios’ back lot. Riders return about 11:30 a.m.
