3 Area Students Vie for Spotlight Awards

Three San Fernando Valley students will be among the competitors at the seventh annual Music Center Spotlight Awards next week for scholarships of $5,000 and $2,500.
Zane Musa of Arleta, Cameron Penn of Tarzana and Marti Williams of Burbank are finalists for the awards, which will be presented Wednesday in the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion.
Musa will compete in the pop and musical theater vocal category, andPenn and Williams will be going head-to-head in the jazz instrumental category.
There are two finalists in each category and the winner takes home $5,000 in scholarship money. The other competitor receives a $2,500 scholarship.
Each contestant will perform at the Spotlight Awards and a panel of celebrity judges will vote on the winners.
