CANOGA PARK — The body of a mortgage broker who had been shot to death after returning from a Clippers game was discovered Thursday morning, authorities said.
Leon Friedland, 47, of Canoga Park, was shot Wednesday night in the garage of his home in the 20700 block of Bassett Street, said Detective Rick Swanston of the Los Angeles Police Department.
Friedland’s secretary, concerned when he didn’t show up for work Thursday, notified police who found the body, Swanston said.
Police said Friedland had gone with a friend to see the Clippers and was fatally shot when he got home about 10 p.m.
Robbery may have been the motive because the man’s dark green, 1992 Acura Legend sedan was missing, Swanston said. Police are searching for the car, which has California license plate number 3CBZ591.
