A 17-year-old boy was arrested at a video arcade in the fatal November shooting of a 24-year-old man, authorities said Thursday.

The Lancaster youth was arrested Wednesday at 6:40 p.m. in the 1000 block of Commerce Center Drive by deputies acting on a tip, said Sgt. Larry Lincoln of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

The youth is accused of returning to an abandoned apartment on Raysack Avenue, which was popular with drug users, after a late night argument on Nov. 12 with Adrian McNeil, 24, of Palmdale. The teen-ager then allegedly shot McNeil through a door, striking him in the head, Lincoln said.

McNeil died at a local hospital seven hours later, Lincoln said.

Investigators said they think the boy used a handgun, but no weapon has been recovered. The reason for the argument is still unknown, he added.

The youth was booked on suspicion of murder at the Antelope Valley Sheriff’s Station and then transferred to a youth facility, said Lincoln.
