Bruin Fans Climb On the Harrick Bandwagon

People tell me that you print only negative letters about UCLA athletics. I can’t believe that. However, I have noticed that since all the letters bombarding Coach Harrick and Athletic Director Pete Dalis ceased a month ago, no nice or congratulatory letters have been printed.

Well, here’s one. Pauley Pavilion exploded as it did during the Wooden years and UCLA basketball is back, thanks to the fine coaching of Jim Harrick. And Pete Dalis continues to run the best overall athletic program in the United States.

I applaud Peter Dalis for his decision to extend Jim Harrick’s contract. But Mr. Dalis, contrary to his stated view, must know that the NCAA tournament is what really counts. Coach Harrick and his players have said as much.
