Disney Store-North America Picks a Senior Vice President

Cynthia Hariss has been named to the newly created position of senior vice president of the Disney Store-North America. Hariss, who joined Disney in 1992 as vice president of stores, will continue to oversee the firm’s North American locations. She will also lead the store operations team at the firm’s Glendale headquarters. The company is a subsidiary of Burbank-based Walt Disney Co.

United Way of Greater Los Angeles has announced the appointment of Joseph V. Haggerty as president, effective May 1. Haggerty, 46, was president and chief executive of Valley of the Sun United Way in Phoenix. The Los Angeles United Way organization, which serves the greater metropolitan area, is the third-largest in the nation. Haggerty succeeds Herb Carter, who retired in February.

H.F. Ahmanson & Co., the Irwindale-based parent company of Home Savings of America, announced that Kevin M. Twomey, executive vice president and chief financial officer of Ahmanson and Home Savings, has been promoted to senior executive vice president and chief financial officer of Ahmanson and Home Savings. In addition, Anne-Drue Anderson, first vice president and treasurer of Ahmanson and Home Savings, has been promoted to executive vice president and treasurer of the two companies. Home Savings is the United States’ largest savings and loan.
