Abbey, HomeVue Join on Service

Abbey Healthcare Group said Monday it will join forces with a Mission Viejo company to offer automated telephone screening that will help to assess health risks for women in the early stage of pregnancy.

The Costa Mesa home health care provider said it reached an agreement with privately held HomeVue Health Systems to develop the service. Abbey said it will start offering the service April 15 through its national network of 235 branches.

A patient calling from home can answer automated questions regarding her health history. An Abbey nurse, in turn, will look over the answers, then send them to the patient’s physician.
