25 Foreign Language Students Are Winners

Twenty-five Western High School students won top honors for improvement, excellence and outstanding achievement in their Spanish, French and German classes.

The students were recently awarded medallions and trophies at the school’s fourth annual World Language Family Awards Night, which is aimed at encouraging pupils to take more foreign language courses.

Choir Looking for New Members

Coro de Los Ninos, a choir for third- through sixth-graders, is looking for new members.

Choir directors Karen Meldrum and Barbara Robinson incorporate dance and drama into their choral education.

Enrollment Starts for Kindergartners

The Fullerton School District’s 14 elementary schools will begin registering kindergarten students April 5 for the fall school term.

Parents are asked to bring their children’s immunization records and birth certificates or other proof of birth date to the school they want their children to attend.

PLACENTIA

City Offers Youngsters Spring Break Camp

The city of Placentia will offer a spring break day camp from April 10 to 14 for children ages 5 to 12 years.

The camp will be offered from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., as well as in extended day sessions, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Price ranges from $50 to $80.

BREA / PLACENTIA

Cities Recruiting Recreational Aides

Brea’s and Placentia’s Volunteens programs are recruiting teen-agers to act as recreational aides.

Applicants must be Placentia or Brea residents 13 to 17 years old. After applications are received, candidates will be interviewed for placement at various sites.

Recreational aides receive stipends of $90 to $175.

The application deadline is April 24 in Brea and April 28 in Placentia.
