North Ranch Country Club is hard enough in broad daylight. Playing in the dark is like throwing darts with the lights off.

Play in the 54-hole Southwestern Intercollegiate Invitational was suspended Monday because ofdarkness before the field completed the afternoon round.

Those who failed to finish will tee off at 7 a.m. today. Thereafter, the final round will commence.

Defending champion Todd Demsey of Arizona State shot a three-over 74 in the morning but did not complete play. He was even par in the afternoon with one hole remaining. Tiger Woods, a freshman from Stanford, shot 75 and was one over in the afternoon when play was suspended.

Only nine of 16 teams completed play. New Mexico shot 296 and 304 to take a three-shot lead over Oklahoma.
