WESTLAKE VILLAGE : Fund-Raising Run to Assist Seniors

Residents who want to help housebound seniors can participate in a run around Westlake Lake this weekend to raise money for Meals on Wheels.

Conejo Valley Senior Concerns is holding its second annual Love Run for Meals on Wheels at 8 a.m. Sunday.

“Last year it turned out to be our second biggest fund-raiser,” Senior Concerns board member Shirley Appleman said. “We had to have it again this year.”

Appleman hoped the event would raise $10,000, which will go toward providing hot meals for local seniors. Meals on Wheels delivers more than 28,000 meals to local seniors each year.

The event will start at the GTEL Building at 2801 Townsgate Road in Westlake Village. The entry fees for 5K and 10K runs are $17 and a one-mile Fun Stroll will cost $12. The fees are tax-deductible. For more information, call 497-0189.
