Teaching About Sex in County’s Schools

Share

* According to the Oxnard High School PTSA “Beeline,” 41% of 11th-graders admit to drinking and driving. And the teen pregnancy rate remains too high.

Our only hope for correction is knowledge, not bits and pieces but total knowledge. Absolute abstinence is the best answer, but like true communism, it won’t work.

* Planned Parenthood, the self-proclaimed defender of “choice,” is upset. Three Ventura County school board members exercised their freedom of choice and chose to use organizations other than Planned Parenthood to teach the county’s teachers sex education. Apparently, the school board members made the wrong choice in the eyes of Planned Parenthood. But if Planned Parenthood celebrates the concept of choice, it should be happy whenever someone chooses, independent of which choice is made.

The truth of the matter is plain. Now that Planned Parenthood is out, it won’t have a free, captive audience at the county school board level in which to sell its contraceptive and abortion services. The organization doesn’t want competing or dissenting views being offered as a choice. It wants its particular immoral, pseudo-religious views and practices imposed on the county’s school children and you.
