LOS ANGELES : Jet Lands Safely at Airport After Mishap on Takeoff

A Boeing 727 jetliner bound for Guadalajara blew at least one tire on takeoff from Los Angeles International Airport on Friday, but the airliner returned to the airfield and landed safely.
The Federal Aviation Administration said city fire crews stood by as Delta Airlines Flight 488 landed without incident at 11:40 a.m.
