O.C. Sports Assn. Studies Huge Debt
The executive committee of the Orange County Sports Assn. met Tuesday to address the organization’s debt, which reportedly is about $1.7 million.
Final facts and figures were presented to the committee, interim director Jack Lindquist said.
“We now have a clear picture of our financial situation,” Lindquist said. “Let’s just say (the debt) is a huge problem.”
Lindquist said the committee plans to clear its debts “immediately,” but no direct plan has been devised. He said additional study was needed.
The OCSA board of directors will meet next Tuesday to discuss the financial situation in depth.
The plan will almost assuredly include a 1995 Freedom Bowl, according to Lindquist. He said that was agreed on at Tuesday’s meeting.
