In its ongoing tribute to American icons, mega home textile manufacturer Dakotah has introduced a limited edition collection in the spirit of legendary rock ‘n’ roller Elvis Presley.

“After visiting Graceland, I realized how important a collection could be,” said George Whyte, president of South Dakota-based Dakotah. “His home, a national landmark, captures the spirit of the man, the music and the era in which he transformed music.

“With that as inspiration, we believe a home textiles collection will appeal to loyal Elvis fans and anyone who appreciates rock ‘n’ roll and the talented people who created it.”

Among the items in the collection are throws (about $60), pillows (about $25), footstools (about $65) and wall art ($60 and up) featuring some of Presley’s song titles such as “All Shook Up,” “Love Me Tender,” “Don’t Be Cruel” and “It’s Now or Never.”

A signature piece of the collection is a limited edition (200) pillow, hand-painted with “The King” spelled out in rhinestones. The pillows (about $600) are available only at Strouds.

In Orange County, the remainder of the collection can be purchased at the Broadway, Robinsons-May and 3-D Bed and Bath stores.

House pets

In celebration of those animals gracing the hallowed halls of your home, Donghia Furniture and Textiles in New York has introduced the Housepets collection.

The heavy fabric, contract-rated for hotels and offices, features a pattern of cats, dogs or goldfish.

Donghia team members, all animal lovers and pet owners, decided on the collection and named the tapestries after their own pets. Among those getting recognition are Felix, Sylvester, Henry, Tucky, Tigger, Nana and Clio.
