Fluor Government Services Unit Appoints New President

Ronald G. Peterson has been appointed president of Fluor Daniel Inc.’s Government Services Operating Co. Peterson, 50, who will be based in Washington, is responsible for existing operations and for business development with agencies of the federal government. Before joining Fluor Daniel, the principal subsidiary of Irvine-based Fluor Corp., Peterson was vice president and general manager of the Space & Strategic Propulsion business unit of Alliant Techsystems, formerly Hercules Aerospace Co., where he was responsible for managing all marketing, design, development, manufacturing and support operations.

* NoRad Corp., a computer monitor accessories manufacturer and marketer, announced that Michelle C. Hartzell has been named president, chief executive and a member of the board. Hartzell, who had been head of corporate communications at the Carson-based company, succeeds Michael Hiles, a member of NoRad’s founding group. Hiles, who was instrumental in NoRad’s development of EMF mitigation services, resigned in order to pursue that business development independently.

* Santa Monica-based Quarterdeck Corp. announced the appointment of Bill Ethier to the post of vice president of worldwide operations. In the newly created position, Ethier, 46, will oversee the computer software company’s U.S. and overseas manufacturing and have responsibility for product testing, quality assurance, facilities and operational planning.
