Reward Posted in Robberies of Postal Carriers

The U.S. Postal Service is offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of a man who robbed at least five San Gabriel Valley letter carriers in March and April.

Postal officials say that from March 14 through April 10, a man carrying a dingy gray laundry bag committed at least five armed robberies and one attempted armed robbery in El Monte, La Puente and Pomona.

On March 14, a letter carrier was robbed at gunpoint in the 12000 block of Morehouse Street in El Monte.

On March 24, a letter carrier was robbed at gunpoint in the 1700 block of Brea Canyon Road in Pomona.

The other incidents followed similar scenarios.

The suspect is described as a Latino male, 24 to 30 years old, 5 feet 6 inches to 5 feet 7 inches tall. He weighs 130 to 160 pounds, has medium-length black hair, a tattoo of a cross on his inner left forearm and a thin build. He sometimes wears a baseball cap.

Anyone with information about the robberies is asked to call postal inspectors at (818) 405-1200.
