GLENDALE : Students to Compete in Creativity Contest

Share

Students in the Glendale school district’s Gifted and Talented Education (GATE) program will compete in a contest of creativity Saturday in the district’s third annual Invention Convention, officials said.

Contestants, who can work individually or in teams, will face off in two categories of competition.

In the first, students will enter an originally developed and built invention. In the second, they will enter an original “Rube Goldberg” cartoon--one illustrating a complicated invention that performs a simple task.

A panel of judges from the school district will evaluate the entries and the winners will be awarded ribbons.

The event is open to the public and the inventions will be on display, organizers said.

The Invention Convention will be from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the district’s Clark Staff Development Center, 4747 New York Ave., La Crescenta.
