Man Killed in Head-On Crash
One man was killed and another suffered minor injuries in a head-on collision on California 118 near Moorpark Tuesday evening when one driver lost control of his car and swerved into an oncoming vehicle, the California Highway Patrol said.
Richard Suenaga of Camarillo was traveling west on California 118 near Hitch Boulevard at 6 p.m. when the unidentified male driver of the second car drifted off the roadway and sharply turned to get back on the road before losing control of the car and veering into the path of Suenaga, CHP dispatcher Claude Ball said.
Ball said Suenaga’s car struck the other vehicle on the driver’s side. The victim’s name was not released pending notification of relatives.
Suenaga, 49, was taken to Pleasant Valley Hospital in Camarillo, where he was treated and released, Ball said. The cause of the accident, he added, was still under investigation.
