CONSERVATION : Harbor Area Residents Can Get Free Low-Flush Toilets
The Wilmington Boys and Girls Club will distribute free, low-flush toilets to area residents from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday.
Residents of Harbor City, Lomita, San Pedro and Wilmington must bring a driver’s license and a Department of Water and Power bill to the club at 1444 W. Q St. to receive a toilet, designed to save money on future water bills. Those who bring their old toilets to exchange will help the club raise funds to build a new playground.
The water department, which will recycle the old toilets, will donate $5 per toilet for construction of the playground.
For more information, call the Wilmington club at (310) 549-8323.
