Man Fatally Shot at Laundromat

A man was shot to death while waiting for a friend inside a Laundromat Wednesday night, and police are looking for two men who were seen talking to the victim.

About 7:45 p.m., officers responding to a call at Trask Avenue and Hoover Street found a man in his 20s with at least one gunshot wound, Police Lt. Andrew Hall said. The man, who was not identified pending family notification, died at the scene, Hall said.

A witness hiding in the area said she saw two men leaving in a car after the shooting, Hall said. The men had been talking to the victim but police didn’t know what the conversation was about.

“We don’t think that they had been fighting,” Hall said.

Bullet shells recovered at the scene revealed that a handgun had been used, and detectives said they did not recover any weapons. A motive has not been established, Hall said.
