Celebrity Author Will Share Her Insights at County Writers Meeting : Elizabeth Forsythe Hailey will talk to group about her experiences as a screenwriter, novelist.

With over 300 members, the Ventura County Writers Club is the most active writers organization from San Luis Obispo to Los Angeles. The club’s May meeting features Elizabeth Forsythe Hailey, best-selling author of “A Woman of Independent Means” and “Joanna’s Husband and David’s Wife.” She will talk about her experiences as a screenwriter and novelist. The meeting begins at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Orchid Professional Building, 816 Camarillo Springs Road, Camarillo.

In addition to holding monthly evening meetings featuring authors, agents and editors, the writers club publishes an excellent newsletter and sponsors specific-interest workshops in which members critique manuscripts and share market information. Yearly dues are $30.

The club also offers a daytime meeting that includes instruction in basic writing techniques. Non-members are welcome at the meeting, which takes place the second Monday of each month. Call 482-5648 or 642-6130 for details.
