The long, rainy winter has given way to sunny spring days, but residents at Leisure World in Seal Beach are still coping with damage from the Jan. 4 storm.
The once-in-a-century deluge created a river in the middle of the community after a nearby flood control channel overflowed, causing the evacuation of about 300 residents.
Leisure World’s governing board is expected to replace 600 folding chairs and a Yamaha piano damaged by the high water.
Residents of Leisure World whose homes were damaged
by the flooding are hoping to receive government aid to make
repairs.
