Robert B. Larramendy; Retired Liquor Distributor

Robert B. Larramendy, a lifelong Ventura County resident and World War II veteran, has died at a Los Angeles hospital following a long battle with heart disease. He was 69.

Born at Big Sisters Hospital in Ventura in 1926, Larramendy attended Ventura schools and Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and retired in 1975 from Glaser Brothers’ liquor distributors, where he was general manager of the Carpinteria branch.

He lived in Ojai with his wife, who survives him. He was also part-owner of a family-run liquor store in Newbury Park until 1986.

A longtime member of St. Thomas Aquinas Parish in Ojai, he lived in Ojai for 35 years, where he and his wife, Mary, raised five children.

In addition to his wife, Larramendy is survived by sons Peter of Ventura, Mark of Redding, Calif., and John of San Luis Obispo; daughters Lisa of Ojai and Maria of Ventura, and seven grandchildren.

A memorial Mass is scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday at St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Ojai. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Thomas Aquinas Church Building Fund, or to the American Heart Assn.’s Ojai division. Clausen Funeral Home in Ojai is handling the arrangements.
