ANAHEIM : Police Raid Suspected Drug Lab; 3 Arrested
Police raided a suspected drug laboratory, seizing material that would have yielded 105 pounds of methamphetamine worth an estimated $735,000, authorities said Wednesday.
Three adults were arrested Tuesday at the residence, in the 500 block of Concord Place, on suspicion of conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine, according to Sgt. Ronald Lovejoy.
Anaheim police were assisted by officers from Orange and Placentia, Lovejoy said.
Investigators from the three departments conducted a joint investigation, which included surveillance of the residence, authorities said. After a search warrant was issued, police said, they seized 271 pounds of ephedrine tablets, some of which were being converted to ephedrine powder in a bedroom lab, the first step in the manufacture of methamphetamine. That amount of powder would have yielded 105 pounds of the illegal drug, Lovejoy said.
