Two Valley Schools Honored by State

Two of three schools in the Los Angeles Unified School District honored by the state Department of Education as 1995 Distinguished Schools are in the San Fernando Valley.
Serrania Avenue Elementary School in Woodland Hills and Vaughn Next Century Learning Center in Pacoima will receive their awards at a May 19 ceremony at the Anaheim Hilton and Towers Hotel, said Marian Fotunati, a school district spokesperson.
The other Los Angeles school receiving the award is Solano Elementary School in Los Angeles.
