* * 1/2 Suddenly, Tammy, “We Get There When We Do,” Warner Bros. Piano pop trios are about as popular as three-legged ballerinas, but this earnest Pennsylvania threesome couldn’t care less. The group swings into action with engaging hooks and lightly jazzy overtones. Frontwoman Beth Sorrentino sounds like an edgy Carly Simon working her way through spunky pop and wistful ballads. Things wear a bit thin when the music gets sentimental, but that isn’t often.

New albums are rated on a scale of one star (poor), two stars (fair), three stars (good) and four stars (excellent).
