Nature Camps--Sea & Sage Audubon Society will offer summer programs for children 9 to 12 years old.

The day camps, which are at the San Joaquin Wildlife Sanctuary in Irvine, will heighten understanding and awareness of birds and other local wildlife. Projects include spotting and identifying birds, interacting with live hawks and owls, and building birdhouses and feeders.

Campers will also take daily hikes, learn to track wildlife, collect specimens, keep a daily journal and explore science through a variety of artistic projects. The highlight of the week will be an excursion to the National Audubon’s Starr Ranch Sanctuary, which is normally off-limits to the public.
