3-D Imax Screen to Open in Irvine: The big-screen company’s first 3-D theater on the West Coast will be at the Edwards Theatres complex in the Irvine Spectrum Entertainment Center, a $50-million complex being built in southern Orange County. The six-story screen will join 20 regular-size ones at what will be the nation’s largest multiplex. The center is expected to open in November.
