GARDEN GROVE : Entrants Sought for Berry Festival Events

Hundreds of amateur entertainers are expected to audition Saturday for the annual Strawberry Festival talent show.

Categories of competition are for ages 6 to 10, 11 to 15, and 16 and older. Trophies and cash prizes will be awarded in each category. Talent show auditions will begin at 9 a.m. in the Festival Amphitheater, 12852 Main St.

On Monday, entries will be accepted for the Strawberry Festival’s Berry Best Strawberry Cooking contest. All entries must include strawberries in some form, and they must be prepared at home. No preserved foods, such as jams or jellies, are allowed.

Cooking contest entries should be brought to the Courtyard Center, 12732 Main St., between 10 a.m. and noon Monday. Cash prizes will be awarded during the festival.

The Strawberry Festival will take place May 26 to 30. Admission is free.
