Share

A 24-year-old Los Angeles man was shot to death last week outside a gas station when a young man with two guns walked up to him and opened fire, Los Angeles police said.

Bernard Boyle was struck in the head about 11:55 p.m. Tuesday while he was getting gas at a Mobil service station at Broadway and Florence Avenue, Newton Division Homicide Detective Gerald Manske said. Boyle died at the scene.

Also injured in the shooting, which Manske said appeared to be gang-related, were two other customers at the station. Jackay Middlebrook, 22, of Los Angeles had been hospitalized in serious condition with three gunshot wounds but was released from Martin Luther King Jr./Drew Medical Center on Thursday. Brian Keith James, 28, of Los Angeles was treated for a single gunshot wound to the left leg and released.
