Sherwin-Williams Loses Bid for Paint Maker: The Cleveland-based company was outbid by Britain’s Imperial Chemical Industries in the battle for Grow Group Inc. of New York. The offer of $350 million, or $22 a share, will make ICI the world’s largest producer of paint. Sherman-Williams’ top offer was $20 a share. The British group said the takeover will quickly boost returns to its shareholders.
