PORT HUENEME : High-Speed Chase Ends in Arrest
A Port Hueneme man led police on a 20-minute high-speed chase through several neighborhoods Tuesday night before crashing into the International Longshoremen’s building on Sea View Street in Port Hueneme.
Stephen Sandoval--who had $82,000 in outstanding warrants, most linked to his violating the terms of his probation--is being held in Ventura County Jail, unable to pay his warrants, police said.
Authorities said Sandoval fled in his car after he was approached by an Oxnard police officer at the end of Perkins Road near Ormond Beach. Sandoval fought off the officer and began the chase that reached speeds of 60 m.p.h., police said.
