More Earthquake Aid: Businesses damaged in the 1994 Northridge earthquake may still be suffering and in need of financial aid, but may not know how to get it. A half-day conference titled “On the Road to Recovery: Where the Money Is and How to Get It After the Quake” will be held Thursday by the Valley Economic Development Center Inc. It includes six sessions that will feature information for businesses that may have already received federal money to rebuild but are struggling in neighborhoods where customers have moved away or surrounding buildings are still damaged. Business owners from inside and outside the San Fernando Valley are welcome. The conference starts at noon at the Airtel Plaza Hotel, 7277 Valjean Ave., Van Nuys. Cost is $20 per person with pre-registration and $30 at the door. People who call (818) 989-4377 before 5 p.m. Tuesday will be admitted free.
