Neta Faye Becker; Community Volunteer

Neta Faye Becker, a longtime Ventura resident and community volunteer, has died. She was 65.

Becker, a former real estate agent for Paul, White & Carahan Real Estate Co. in Burbank, was an active parishioner at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church in Ventura.

In addition to working with Bible study programs at the church, Becker was also a Catholic Social Services volunteer and a Pink Lady at Community Memorial Hospital.

An avid golfer, bridge player and dancer, Becker was a member of the Saticoy Country Club and the Women’s Golf Assn.

Becker, who was born in Oberlin, Kan., is survived by daughters Cynthia Diane Becker of Sebastopol, Calif., and Patricia Ann Amico of Camarillo, and sons Jerry Lee Becker of Frazier Park and Frederick Paul Becker III of Newhall.

Other survivors include her mother, Lena Simpson of Oberlin, Kan.; brothers Melvin Simpson of Lincoln, Neb., Dale Simpson of Red Cloud, Neb., Lowell Simpson of Denver, Ivan Simpson of Beatrice, Neb., and 12 grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Joseph P. Reardon Funeral Home, Ventura. Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. A burial Mass will be celebrated Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. at Our Lady of the Assumption Church. Burial will follow at Santa Clara Cemetery in Oxnard.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lupus Foundation, P.O. Box 61145, Santa Barbara 93160, or the Ventura County chapter of the American Cancer Society, 1363 Del Norte Road, Camarillo 93010.
