MISSION VIEJO : Applicants Sought for Commission Vacancy
Residents interested in working on the city Economic Development Commission have until June 16 to apply at City Hall.
The five-member commission works with the Chamber of Commerce to promote business in Mission Viejo. Among the commission’s projects is the Shop Mission Viejo program and an annual Business Expo at the Mission Viejo Mall.
“The commission also helps attract businesses to the city and helps keep them here,” said Planning Director Clint Sherrod, who oversees the commission.
One commission seat recently opened with the resignation of Ben Meharg, a former planning commissioner who is moving to Texas. Meharg was an appointee of Councilman William S. Craycraft.
To be considered for the position, an applicant must be a registered voter and resident of Mission Viejo. Applications must be returned to the city clerk’s office in City Hall, 25909 Pala.
