San Antonio’s New Mayor

SAN ANTONIO —
A city councilman who had come just 100 votes short of winning the general election for mayor defeated a community activist in a runoff. Unofficial results late Tuesday showed Bill Thornton with 51,791 votes, or 53%, to Kay Turner’s 46,572 votes, or 47%.
