ANAHEIM : 4,000 People Expected to Attend Heritage Day
As many as 4,000 people may turn out Sunday for Heritage Day, a family-oriented celebration of early California history.
Sponsoring the 14th annual event are Anaheim’s Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department and the Canyon Hills Junior Women’s Club.
Admission is free for the celebration, which will be from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Oak Canyon Nature Center.
Live bluegrass and folk music, free pony rides and hands-on arts and crafts activities are planned.
Horseshoe making, butter churning, cross-cut sawing, weaving and calligraphy will be demonstrated, along with Native American story telling, dancing and flute music.
Free shuttle service will be offered from the Anaheim Hills Golf Course, 6501 E. Nohl Ranch Road. The 60-acre Oak Canyon Nature Center is at 6700 E. Walnut Canyon Road in Anaheim.
