SANTA ANA : 33-Home Police Sweep Nets 6 Arrests, 12 Guns
More than 100 law enforcement agents searched 33 homes in Santa Ana, Anaheim and Garden Grove this week, arresting six suspected gang members and confiscating 12 handguns.
The sweep by 130 agents Thursday was part of several ongoing investigations into gang activities, said Lt. Jose Garcia of the Santa Ana Police Department.
Four of the suspects were booked on suspicion of probation or parole violations, weapons violations and possession of stolen property. The other two were released, Garcia said.
Most of the homes that were searched were in Santa Ana. The names, ages or cities of those arrested were unavailable, Garcia said.
The agencies involved in the search included the Santa Ana, Garden Grove, Anaheim, Westminster, Tustin and La Habra police departments, the Sheriff’s Department, the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, and the Orange County Probation Department.
