Third Suspect Arrested in Trailer Park Slayings

Police have made a third arrest for the 1993 murder of a couple in a trailer park.

Police arrested Salvador Aguayo Islas, 27, of Perris on Thursday on suspicion of the Dec. 7, 1993, killings of Michelle Lawson, 32, and Joshua Wells, 20.

Police said new information uncovered in the last month gave them enough evidence to arrest Islas, but they declined to provide further details. Police have determined no motive yet for the killings, said Lt. Chuck Thomas of the Huntington Beach Police Department.

The two victims were found by police lying next to each other in a trailer in the Driftwood Beach Club mobile-home park on Pacific Coast Highway after neighbors reported hearing gunshots.

Last October, police arrested two other suspects in the case, Travis Scott Frederiken, 23, and Richard Darren Fleck, 29.

Frederiken was in the Davis County Jail in Utah on unrelated drug charges and Fleck was being held on drug charges in a state prison in Blythe when they were charged with the murders.

The case is still under investigation.
