* Hale Conklin has been named president and chief executive of Thermodynamic Engineering Inc., a Camarillo firm that produces environmental test systems for industrial customers worldwide. He has held management posts at a number of companies in various fields.

He replaces David Brown, who remains as chairman.

* Ronald E. Hagler has been named head of the MBA program at Cal Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks.

A former director of administration at the accounting firm of Deloitte & Touche, he has been teaching human resource management and small business consulting at CLU since 1994.

He has been an administrator for various law firms and has developed business valuation methods for the Business Brokers of America.

* Joseph P. Schaaf has been named senior project manager in the environmental site assessment group at Applied Environmental Technologies Inc. in Ventura.

He is a geologist who has managed environmental site assessments and soil and ground water remediation projects.

He formerly worked for Chevron, where he was responsible for project management and computer analysis of geophysical and geological data.

* Lauren S. Serwitz has been named manager of Saticoy Country Club. She succeeds John Quinlan, who resigned for health reasons.

Serwitz was formerly manager of the Sacramento Capitol Club. She has also been with the Engineers Club of San Francisco and the Club Corps of America.

* Transworld Bank has named Thomas W. Trigg vice president and manager in charge of its new Camarillo branch. Before joining Transworld last year, Trigg was an assistant vice president at First State Bank of the Oaks and oversaw its Thousand Oaks and Simi Valley offices.
