Chance to Tell Off Corporate America: MasterCard...

Chance to Tell Off Corporate America: MasterCard International has launched a program in which consumers can express their opinions on current marketing practices in which information about consumers is collected, packaged and sold. The end result of these practices: Buy a children’s video and 20 kiddie companies send you catalogues for their books, records, clothing and magazines. Buy a house and you get flyers from the likes of mortgage insurers and Sears. Do you like the free catalogues? Or are you angry that companies are selling your name, address and buying habits to everyone from life insurers to Lands End? At the end of the survey, which runs until July 4, MasterCard will make consumers’ opinions known to any company or organization that asks. To participate, call (800) 622-7581 or write MasterCard Asks America, P.O. Box 27972, Washington, D.C. 20038-7972. Or send e-mail to: https:www.mastercard.com.
