QLogic Corp.: Melvin G. Gable, president and chief executive of the Costa Mesa-based computer chip maker, has resigned. The company’s announcement did not give a reason for Gable’s resignation. Gable had held both positions since November, 1993. Joseph F. Pleso, vice president of sales, has been named interim president and chief executive while the company searches for a new top executive.
