Hollywood Park Post 20 Minutes Later Today

In addition to the Belmont Stakes, Hollywood Park will offer betting on three other stakes from Belmont Park, and consequently, today’s post time has been pushed back 20 minutes to 1:20 p.m.

The other three races are the $100,000 Hill Prince for 3-year-olds at 1 1/16 miles on turf, the $100,000 Riva Ridgeoat for 3-year-olds at seven furlongs and the $200,000 Early Times Manhattan for 3-year-olds and up at 1 1/4 miles on the turf. The Hill Prince will be the first race shown at 12:27 p.m.

There are two stakes on the local card--the $100,000 Harry Henson Stakes for 3-year-olds at 7 1/2 furlongs on dirt and the $150,000 Shoemaker Handicap for 3-year-olds and up at a mile on turf.

Mr Purple, second in the California Derby and Will Rogers Breeders’ Cup Handicap in his last two starts on turf, is the 9-5 favorite in the Henson against seven opponents.

Unfinished Symph, who is one of the country’s most underrated grass runners, is the 8-5 choice in the Shoemaker. He drew the rail against eight rivals and will be going for his third victory in five starts on the Hollywood Park turf course.
