A three-vehicle crash Saturday morning at the intersection of Lincoln Avenue and Anaheim Boulevard critically injured two teen-age passengers, police said.

Police said a Ford utility truck driven north on Anaheim Boulevard by David Alan Beverly, 48, of Mission Viejo collided with a 1995 Dodge Intrepid driven west on Lincoln Avenue by Matthew Edward Perrin, 30, of Tempe, Ariz.

Beverly was uninjured, but Perrin was taken to Anaheim Memorial Hospital with moderate injuries and later released, police said.

However, a 15-year-old Riverside girl was thrown from the Dodge onto the street. A 17-year-old girl from Albuquerque, who was in the car’s back seat, suffered major injuries.

Both teen-age girls were treated by paramedics and taken to UCI Medical Center in Orange, where they were listed in critical condition.

A 38-year-old female passenger, also from Albuquerque, was taken to Anaheim Memorial with moderate injuries and later released.

A third vehicle, a 1989 Dodge Shadow, was stopped northbound on Anaheim Boulevard when it was struck by the Dodge Intrepid as it bounced off the truck. The driver of that car, Bertha Chavez, 25, of Anaheim, was also taken to Anaheim Memorial and released, police said.

Investigators were trying to determine which driver failed to stop for the red light.
