DOWNTOWN : New Center Pushes High-Tech Literacy
The public can now use 10 multimedia computers and a laser printer at the Central Library’s Edward M. Carson First Interstate Bank Center for New Technology.
The center, dedicated last week, will allow the public and library staff to learn to use the library’s automated card catalog, on-line network and image database of historical photographs in addition to the Internet. The center’s equipment will also be used by students and faculty of the Electronic Information Magnet High School, which is housed in the library.
Funding for the program was provided by a $50,000 grant from First Interstate Bank.
