THOUSAND OAKS : Explosion Rattles Neighborhood

Share

An explosive device may have started a fire that gutted a car and rattled a Thousand Oaks neighborhood, sheriff’s deputies said Friday.

Deputies responded to reports of a loud explosion at 10:24 p.m. Thursday and found a car on fire on the 3100 block of Medicine Bow Court. County firefighters extinguished the blaze.

The explosion caused no injuries, but destroyed the car--a station wagon owned by Wayne Peterson of Thousand Oaks--and partly burned another vehicle nearby.
