4 International Firms Get $200-Million Phone Contract: International Communications Corp. selected Canada’s Northern Telecom Ltd., Germany’s Siemens, and Japan’s Sumitomo Corp. and Tomen Fujitsu Corp. to install phone lines and equipment in the Philippines. Northern Telecom will install and commission the switching and transmission equipment for just less than $100 million of the total contract amount. The other three firms will supply and install 100,000 phone lines each within three years.
