Traditional and contemporary accessories with a handcrafted feel set apart the products offered the Laguna Colony Co., a new store in Laguna Beach.

Among the items are ceramic pieces by Orange County’s Primavera and Natural by Nature.

The 3,000-square-foot store, which also has a branch in Malibu, specializes in tabletop and glass pieces, linens, and bathroom and garden items. Some of the more unusual works include aluminum table wear by Mariposa, glassware by Annie Glass, Roman-style urns and ases by Cottura and resin bathroom pieces by Modern Relics.

The store, in the Lumberyard Mall, 384 Forest Ave., also features recycled teak furniture from Indonesia and a large selection of upholstered and slipcovered chairs and sofas.

As part of he store’s opening, owner Hugh Kinsellagh will donate 20% of Sunday’s receipts to AIDS Services Foundation/Orange County.

The armchair, lounge and sofa designs of Paolo Deganello for Cassina are as soft and cozy as they appear, while lending a sculptural profile.

Available in several color and fabric combinations, the armchair (from $2,495), lounge (from $3,180) and sofa (from $3,370) can be used separately or together for an asymmetrical look.

The Torso collection is available at Diva in Los Angeles and MPLA Associates in Solana Beach.

“The Art of Ceramic Tile,” a free booklet offered by the Tile Promotion Board, is a step-by-step guide to choosing and designing with tile.

The 24-page booklet, which has color illustrations, includes basic information on how to lay and maintain tile, technical tips and a source guide.
