PORT HUENEME : Motel Manager Stabbed in the Neck

Share

The manager of a Port Hueneme motel was stabbed in the neck early Thursday morning by a transient wandering around the motel property, police said.

Surfside Motel owner Ronald Minch, 47, confronted Mark Allmond, 35, at 12:30 a.m. and escorted him off the premises, authorities said. But Allmond lunged at Minch and stabbed him in the neck when he turned to walk back to the manager’s office, authorities said.

A motel resident heard the two struggle over the knife and called police, officials said.

Minch was treated for a four-inch gash to his neck at St. John’s Regional Medical Center in Oxnard and released.
