SIMI VALLEY : Information Fair Planned for Seniors

Share

Free advice, and a lot of it, will be part of the upcoming information fair at the Simi Valley Senior Citizens Center.

More than 30 public and private agencies will have volunteers on hand to answer questions about services provided to seniors.

A similar fair was so successful last year that the Simi Valley Council on Aging decided to hold it annually, said Rosie Aguilar, an administrative assistant with the group.

“It’s a great way to let them know what’s out there that they can use,” Aguilar said.

Some of the groups that will be at the

event include Grey Law, which provides free legal advice to seniors, the Ventura Area Agency on Aging, and a group with information on Alzheimer’s disease.

Although Simi Valley has one of the smallest senior citizen populations in Ventura County, the Senior Center is heavily used with more than 300 people visiting each day, and Aguilar expects a large turnout for the event.

The event is scheduled for July 27 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Senior Citizens Center, 3900 Avenida Simi.
